REGRETS

I have had several regrets throughout my colourful life,
One was not meeting sooner, the girl who became my wife.
Another is not studying enough at my Grammar School,
Instead of acting the goat and playing a classroom fool.
Throughout my working days I was a rebel and activist,
Hence the reasons behind the promotions that I missed.
Losing touch with my old friends who once filled me with mirth,
Some whose souls have departed from this life, this earth!
There are many more but one that I haven’t got,
Is the place that I was born, it beats the bloody lot!
