“I would urge Neath Port Talbot Council to reconsider their plans to leave the Swansea Bay City Deal.
“The regional economy of South West Wales will be boosted over 15 years by more than £1.8 billion, bringing more jobs and opportunities for hard-working local people from Neath and Llanelli to Pembroke Dock and Swansea.
“The independent review carried by Actica, on behalf of the UK and Welsh Governments, made seven recommendations to ensure that the full benefits are achieved and the review concluded that the city deal will have a positive impact on the region.
“Partnership working of this scale can be difficult and stakeholders must take a long-term approach on what the city deal can achieve for future generations.”
