An NSPCC Cymru/Wales spokesperson said: “Coe ruthlessly exploited a vulnerable child to deliver drugs, involving him in serious criminality far from his home.

“It’s deeply worrying that children are increasingly being coerced by organised gangs into taking huge risks, facing serious punishments if caught carrying drugs or weapons.

“Those involved in ‘county lines’ can often be too scared to seek the support they need to escape, but the NSPCC’s Helpline can provide vital advice for anyone concerned about a child who might be involved in a gang.”
