HALF TERM HERITAGE OPEN DAY

The Llanelli and Mynydd Mawr Railway will be holding a Half Term heritage open day at Cynheidre on Saturday 25th May with plenty going on to entertain the whole family.  In addition to frequent brake van rides with our popular Sentinel diesel loco over our recently extended running line, there will be a mining heritage family quiz, nature trail and refreshments available from our on site buffet car. The Heritage Centre will be open offering an insight into the history of Cynheidre Colliery and our future plans. Gates will open at 10.30am with trains running at frequent intervals from 11am to 4pm.

All trains today will be hauled by Sentinel 0-4-0 Diesel shunter No. 10222 providing brake van rides along the recently extended operational section of running line.  The railway’s other rolling stock, including Landore celebrity shunter No. 08 795, Class 122 Diesel Unit No.  55019 and Netherlands Class 600 diesel will also be available to view and there will be access to the main stock sheds and Heritage centre. A mining heritage quiz will run throughout the day with a prize for those who finish it. The nature trail will be open with a guided walk available at 11.30am.  The buffet car will be open for the sale of refreshments.

Fares £4 Adult, £3 child/senior, £10 family (2 adults and 2 children). Tickets are all day rovers.
