HomeToGo, the world’s largest holiday rental search engine, has used its search data to find the top 5 trending holiday destinations in Wales, based on their year-on-year increase in searches for summer 2019 compared to 2018. Small but scenic seaside towns like Towyn and New Quay are on the way up, with 4 of the top 5 trending destinations on the beautiful Welsh coast.

To identify the top 5 trending destinations, HomeToGo compared the number of searches for each destination on hometogo.co.uk for travel dates between the 1st June and 31st August 2019 with the same dates in 2018. The top 5 destinations are those with the greatest percentage increase in searches – and, while they might be under the radar now, they won’t be for long.

Findings include:

• New Quay, on Ceredigion Bay, had 112.75% more searches in summer 2019 than summer 2018, making it one of the top 5 fastest-growing destinations
• More and more UK travellers are being drawn to Wales’ beautiful coastline: 4 of the top 5 destinations are beach towns
