Welsh speakers and learners are being given the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon guided tour of the fascinating Carew Castle site on Saturday 15 June.
The hour-long walking tour will include a full history of the Castle, and explore its many colourful characters over the centuries.
This includes Princess Nest, who was dubbed the most beautiful woman in Wales, and Sir Rhys Ap Thomas, the man who is said to have killed Richard III at the Battle of Bosworth.
Carew Castle Manager, Daisy Hughes said: “The tour is perfect for fluent Welsh speakers and learners alike as the tour guide is Christian Donovan, who as well as having an in-depth knowledge of the Castle’s history, is a local Welsh language tutor who has taught adult Welsh classes for many years in Pembrokeshire.
“Come and learn more about the site’s turbulent past, see how the building was developed over hundreds of years and hear about the ghosts that are said to haunt the Castle to this day.”
The Welsh Language Tour of Carew Castle, which takes place at 2.30pm on Saturday 15 June, is included free with normal admission.
The site is managed by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority.

Taith Gymraeg i ddatgelu hanes cyfoethog Castell Caeriw
Mae siaradwyr a dysgwyr Cymraeg yn cael cyfle i fwynhau taith dywys o amgylch safle diddorol Castell Caeriw ddydd Sadwrn 15 Mehefin.
Bydd y daith gerdded awr o hyd yn cynnwys holl hanes y Castell, ac yn edrych ar y llu o gymeriadau lliwgar dros y canrifoedd.
Maen nhw’n cynnwys y Dywysoges Nest, a gafodd ei galw yn fenyw harddaf Cymru, a Syr Rhys Ap Thomas, y dyn y credir iddo ladd Richard III ym Mrwydr Bosworth.
Dywedodd Daisy Hughes, Rheolwr Castell Caeriw: “Mae’r daith yn berffaith i siaradwyr Cymraeg rhugl a dysgwyr fel ei gilydd gan mai’r tywysydd yw Christian Donovan. Yn ogystal â bod â gwybodaeth drylwyr am hanes y Castell, mae hefyd yn diwtor Cymraeg lleol sydd wedi dysgu dosbarthiadau Cymraeg i oedolion am flynyddoedd lawer yn Sir Benfro.
“Dewch i ddysgu mwy am orffennol cythryblus y safle, i weld sut y cafodd yr adeilad ei ddatblygu dros gannoedd o flynyddoedd ac i glywed am yr ysbrydion y dywedir eu bod yn aflonyddu ar y Castell hyd heddiw.”
Mae’r Daith Gymraeg o amgylch Castell Caeriw, sy’n digwydd am 2.30pm ddydd Sadwrn 15 Mehefin, wedi’i chynnwys am ddim gyda thocyn mynediad arferol.
