Detectives investigating an assault in Swansea city centre, which has left one man in a critical condition in hospital, are continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward.

Officers were alerted to a disturbance near Primark on St Mary’s Square at approximately 11.25 on Saturday, June 15.

Three men were assaulted, and one was critically injured. He remains in a critical condition at the University Hospital of Wales.

Two men, aged 21 and 33, were arrested in connection with the incident and have since been released on bail.

Senior Investigating Officer, DCI Helen Woodward, said: “This was a serious assault which has left one man critically ill in hospital.

“I have a team of officers dedicated to this investigation and a number of enquiries have taken place during this last week.

“However, we are still appealing for any other witnesses to come forward. In particular, we are keen to trace three people who were in the vicinity at the time of the incident and who may have witnessed it.

“The first man was wearing a black leather jacket, the second a white gillet, and the third is a taxi driver who was in his vehicle at the scene.

“I’d urge people to cast their minds back to last Saturday – if they have information, however insignificant it may seem, I’d urge them to come forward.”
