Summer treasures in the Garden

A rare piece of Moorcroft pottery is one of the many treasures up for grabs in the Summer Antiques Weekend at the National Botanic Garden of Wales, July 6-7.

The 1920s ‘Eventide’ piece, a lidded vase in a wonderful burnt orange colour, is just one of thousands of collectibles available at 100 stalls in a number of venues around the Carmarthenshire attraction.

The popular Antiques Fair and Vintage Market will be open from 10am to 4.30pm both days and admission is just £5 per person. It’s also Doggy Weekend, so bring along your pooch for a mooch around the fair and the Botanic Garden.

Watch out for rare maps and  paintings – including Kyffin Williams; Swansea, Glamorgan, Llanelli and the increasingly popular Ewenny pottery; a large range of Welsh tapestry and woollen blankets; Victorian linen, vintage clothes and costume jewellery.

Plus there is objet d’art decor, books, fishing equipment, gold and silver jewellery, militaria, oak furniture and period mahogany pieces. Also on display will be a fine collection of period clocks, together with the more traditional long case clocks.
