Dream roles for Summer Rangers/Swyddi delfrydol ar gyfer Parcmyn Haf

Two Summer Rangers have taken up seasonal duties with the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority’s Ranger Teams in the north and the south of the county.

Both 19-year-old Libby Higgins-Washbrook and Jack Davies, who is 22, look upon their new roles as dream jobs, having always been keen to work in the countryside in their native county.

Libby is from Goodwick and went to Ysgol Bro Gwaun and then Ysgol Dewi Sant 6^th Form while Jack is from Steynton, Milford Haven. He has just completed a degree in Countryside Management at Aberystwyth University. Both are fluent Welsh speakers.

A key part of their summer roles is to promote what is local, and to tell visitors and local people about the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, and ways to explore it, including getting out and walking the Coast Path and the many web walks, and how to help look after this very special place.

Welcoming the new team members, Libby Taylor, Ranger Service Manager, said: “Libby will be delivering activities and helping visitors with information in the north of the county, covering an area from Fishguard to Poppit Sands. Jack will be seen out and about on the south coast, between Angle and Amroth.

“The Summer Rangers will be based at beaches and harbours but will also visit many of the county’s summer shows, festivals and events offering activities for families and a wealth of information on what to see and where to go.”

In the north Libby will be working particularly with Area Ranger Carol Owen while Jack will be linking up with Area Ranger Chris Taylor.

Mae dau Barcmon Haf wedi dechrau gweithio gyda Thimau Parcmyn Awdurdod Parc Cenedlaethol Arfordir Penfro dros yr haf yng ngogledd a de’r sir.

Yn ôl Libby Higgins-Washbrook sy’n 19 oed a Jack Davies, sy’n 22 oed, mae eu swyddi newydd yn ddelfrydol gan eu bod wedi bod eisiau gweithio yng nghefn gwlad Cymru erioed.

Daw Libby o Wdig ac aeth i Ysgol Bro Gwaun ac yna i’r Chweched Dosbarth yn Ysgol Dewi Sant tra bo Jack yn dod o Steynton, Aberdaugleddau. Mae Jack newydd gwblhau gradd mewn Rheoli Cefn Gwlad ym Mhrifysgol Aberystwyth. Mae’r ddau yn siarad Cymraeg yn rhugl.

Un o brif gyfrifoldebau eu rolau dros yr haf yw hyrwyddo pethau lleol a dweud wrth ymwelwyr a phobl leol am Barc Cenedlaethol Arfordir Penfro, a ffyrdd o’i archwilio, yn cynnwys cerdded ar hyd Llwybr yr Arfordir a llawer o deithiau gwe, a sut i helpu i ofalu am y lle hynod o arbennig hwn.

Wrth groesawu’r aelodau newydd i’r tîm, dywedodd Libby Taylor, Rheolwr y Gwasanaeth Parcmyn: “Bydd Libby yn darparu gweithgareddau ac yn helpu ymwelwyr drwy roi gwybodaeth iddynt yng ngogledd y sir o Abergwaun i Draeth Poppit. Bydd Jack yn gweithio o amgylch arfordir y de, rhwng Angle ac Amroth.

“Bydd y Porthmyn Haf wedi’u lleoli ar draethau a harbwrs ond byddant hefyd yn ymweld â sawl sioe, gŵyl a digwyddiad yn y sir yn cynnig gweithgareddau i deuluoedd a gwybodaeth helaeth am beth i’w weld a lle i fynd.”

Yn y gogledd, bydd Libby yn gweithio’n benodol gyda Carol Owen, Porthmon yr Ardal tra bydd Jack yn cysylltu yn y de â Chris Taylor, Porthmon yr Ardal honno.
