- ‘Indigo Group Premiership’ debuts with new international format for 2019/20 season
The Indigo Group, the contracting services, umbrella and payroll outsourcing company is pleased to announce that it will be the title sponsor of the new 12-team Welsh Rugby Premiership for the 2019/20 season.
Under the new sponsorship deal the tournament will be renamed the ‘Indigo Group Premiership’ and feature a fresh format. The league is being reduced from 16 clubs to 12, with a straight one-up, one down promotion-relegation arrangement at the end of the season.
The Indigo Group also recently announced it will be sponsoring the Cardiff Blues, Cardiff’s professional rugby team, for the 2019/20 season. Sponsoring both the Indigo Group Premiership and the Cardiff Blues rugby team are two examples of Indigo Group’s commitment to investing in and supporting Welsh rugby.
With over 40 years’ experience, Indigo Group is a UK-wide business and is the market leading provider of complete payroll solutions for contractors, freelancers and agencies in construction and other industries.
Ian Cole-Wilkins, CEO of Indigo Group, says: “It’s fantastic to be the title sponsor of premiership rugby in Wales. With the new format, this season looks to be one of the most exciting yet.”
“As a company, Indigo Group takes great pride in supporting Welsh rugby and sport, not only in Cardiff but right across Wales and the rest of the UK.”
Martyn Phillips, WRU Group Chief Executive, says: “We are thrilled to welcome Indigo Group on board as Premiership title sponsors. Their energy, and the profile they will bring to the clubs and competition, will provide a significant boost to the new-look league, along with the continued high level of live television coverage.”
