PLANED, the organisation supporting individuals and communities across Pembrokeshire, is pleased to announce three new appointments to its Board of Trustees, bringing extensive business knowledge and experience from across the county.
At the recent PLANED AGM and well attended Annual Conference in the Merlin Theatre, the new appointments were confirmed, and this week, the Chair of the Board, Lynne Upsdell, the Treasurer, Gordon Barry, and the Chief Executive, Iwan Thomas, formally met the three new Trustees to welcome them and discuss plans for the future.
Speaking about the new appointments, Iwan said: “We restructured in Spring this year, we have new staff members in post and a new organisational strategy looking to the future, strengthening our continued commitment to support communities and ideas that are innovative and inclusive. I’m delighted to welcome our three new Board Members, Gareth Davies, Tir Dewi; Paula Ellis, Retreats Group; and Gareth Reynolds, Dale Sailing. They bring significant experience in business, marketing, and community responsibility, and will be a great positive addition to direct and support the team in continuing to evolve and deliver according to PLANED’s core ethos and vision.”
The three new PLANED Trustees are:
Gareth Davies is currently the Executive Officer at Tir Dewi, which is a charity providing a Helpline for farmers across west Wales and follow-up support to help them overcome their issues. Prior to this, Gareth was a UK company Director for many years for a London based executive recruitment & leadership firm, and also a marketing consultant.
Gareth Reynolds is the Managing Director of Dale Sailing based in Neyland, and is now the third generation of the Reynolds’ family at the helm of the business. A commercial skipper and water-sports instructor, Gareth plays an active and hands-on role in the day-to-day operations of the business, and continues to develop and grow the business both locally and internationally.
Paula Ellis is the Group General Manager for the Retreats Group, which owns and runs Twr-y-Felin Hotel, Roch Castle, and Penrhiw Priory here in Pembrokeshire. Paula has extensive management experience within the hospitality and tourism sector across Wales leading sector establishments, and has also previously been the Marketing Manager for Cardiff Wales Airport, and the Manager of Oriel y Parc for the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
Tri Ymddiriedolwr newydd yn ymuno â Bwrdd PLANED
Mae PLANED, y sefydliad sydd yn cefnogi unigolion a chymunedau ledled Sir Benfro, yn falch o gyhoeddi fod tri ymddiriedolwr newydd yn ymuno â Bwrdd Ymddiriedolwyr y sefydliad, gan ddod â gwybodaeth a phrofiad busnes helaeth o bob cornel o’r sir.
Yng nghyfarfod cyffredinol blynyddol diweddaraf PLANED a’r Gynhadledd Flynyddol boblogaidd yn Theatr Myrddin, cafodd y penodiadau newydd eu cadarnhau, a’r wythnos yma, cafodd Cadeirydd y Bwrdd, Lynne Upsdell, y Trysorydd, Gordon Barry, a’r Prif Weithredwr, Iwan Thomas groesawu’r tri ymddiriedolwr newydd a thrafod cynlluniau ar gyfer y dyfodol.
Wrth siarad am y penodiadau newydd, dywedodd Iwan: “Gwnaethom ailstrwythuro yn ystod y Gwanwyn eleni, mae gennym aelodau staff newydd mewn swyddi a strategaeth sefydliadol newydd ar gyfer y dyfodol a fydd yn cryfhau ein hymroddiad i gefnogi cymunedau a syniadau sydd yn arloesol a chynhwysol. Rwy’n falch o groesawu ein tri Aelod Bwrdd newydd, Gareth Davies, Tir Dewi; Paula Ellis, Retreats Group; a Gareth Reynold, Dale Sailing. Maent yn ychwanegu profiad sylweddol mewn busnes, marchnata, a chyfrifoldeb cymuned, ac yn ychwanegiad cadarnhaol i arwain a chefnogi’r tîm wrth barhau i ddatblygu a darparu yn unol ag ethos a gweledigaeth PLANED.”
Tri Ymddiriedolwr newydd PLANED yw:
Ar hyn o bryd mae Gareth Davies yn Uwch Swyddog Gweithredol yn Tir Dewi, elusen sy’n darparu llinell gymorth a chymorth dilynol i ffermwyr ledled gorllewin Cymru i oresgyn eu pryderon. Cyn hyn, roedd Gareth yn Gyfarwyddwr i gwmni recriwtio swyddogion gweithredol ac arweinwyr a oedd wedi ei leoli yn Llundain, a hefyd yn ymgynghorydd marchnata.
Gareth Reynolds yw Rheolwr Cyfarwyddwr Dale Sailings, wedi’i leoli yn Nayland, ac ef yw trydedd genhedlaeth y teulu Reynolds i gymryd awenau’r busnes. Yn sgiper masnachol a hyfforddwr chwaraeon dŵr, mae Gareth yn chwarae rôl ymarferol yng ngweithrediad dyddiol y busnes, ac yn parhau i ddatblygu a thyfu’r busnes yn lleol a rhyngwladol.
Paula Ellis yw Rheolwr Cyffredniol Retreats Group, sydd yn berchen ar ac yn rhedeg Gwesty Twr-y-Felin, Gwesty Castell y Garn, a Gwesty Penrhiw yma yn Sir Benfro. Mae gan Paula brofiad helaeth o reoli yn y sector lletygarwch a thwristiaeth ledled Cymru, sefydliadau yn arwain y sector.
