CETMA’s Food Surplus project is holding a Curry Night to help raise funds for its Christmas Hampers scheme.
Last Christmas, the Surplus Food Project provided hampers for the disadvantaged people in within the Llanelli area. Thanks to the generosity of the local people and businesses, the project delivered over 31 food hampers which benefitted over 100 people.
Now the project has started to look for donations for Christmas 2019 and it has already purchased hats and gloves ready to go for those in need.
Colette Ingram, Volunteer Project Manager said:
“We want to ensure that we are ready to distribute to more people than last 2018.”
“Therefore, we are holding the curry night to raise valuable funds that will go in purchasing food items for the Christmas Hampers.”
“We’re also asking local businesses if they would be so kind in donating a raffle prize or something that would benefit the project, It would be amazing and would also be helpful for these disadvantaged Llanelli families.”
The Curry Night is being held in The Sultan, 1 Hall St, Llanelli on Thursday 29th August, 2019. It will be a buffet style Indian Cuisine and tickets cost £10 for adults and £6 for children under 8. Drinks, starters, poppadoms and desserts are extra.
Tickets are available from CETMA, CETMA Business Centre, Marsh St, Llanelli, SA15 1BG.
