Medieval battles and weddings at Carew Castle

Let your imagination flow with tournaments, weddings and battles at a Medieval encampment in the ancient atmosphere of Carew Castle and Tidal Mill this Bank Holiday weekend (Saturday 24 to Monday 26 August).

Join the BOARS (Brotherhood of Aman Re-enactment Society) in their Carew encampment for a taste of Medieval life; try on armour, handle a sword, take part in weapons training ready for a battle or shoot a long-bow with Have-a-go Archery.

Carew Castle Manager Daisy Hughes said: “This is a brilliant family-friendly opportunity for everyone to get involved with hands-on activities, and be entertained by various Medieval characters in their roles.

“There will be knights, tournaments and even a re-enactment of a Medieval Wedding complete with a wedding feast, so it will be colourful and lively with so much to learn about Castle life while being entertained.”

The events run from 10am to 4pm each day and normal admission applies, except for a small charge for Have-a-go Archery.

For more information about entry fees to the Castle please visit www.carewcastle.com or ring 01646 651782.
