Carmarthenshire County Council is offering drop-in sessions to help anyone over 60 who is yet to renew their Concessionary Travel Card.

Transport for Wales is rolling out new-style cards by the end of December, which will replace the current green ‘bus passes’ across Wales.

The old-style cards will not be recognised by electronic readers on buses after December 31, 2019.

The sessions are for replacement passes only, and are being held to help people who are unable to complete the application through the Transport for Wales website and do not have family or friends that can help them.

The Transport for Wales website is the quickest way to renew the cards if people can access the internet.

Once cards are renewed, Transport for Wales will issue the new cards, and although it may take a few weeks the cards should arrive by December 31.

Those yet to renew their cards and need help can call in to Carmarthenshire County Councilā€™s customer service Hwbs in Llanelli, Ammanford and Carmarthen town centres between 10am and 4pm from Monday, November 11, to Friday, November 15.

The sessions are for those wishing to renew their passes only, and not for new applications – new applicants need to contact Transport for Wales.

The councilā€™s customer service Hwbs can be found at:

  • 36 Stepney Street, Llanelli (the old ā€˜Burtonsā€™)
  • 41 Quay Street, Ammanford, SA18 3BS
  • 3 Spilman Street, Carmarthen, SA31 1LE
