Lee Waters AM said
“This is really worrying news, and will be a real concern to families right across Llanelli and Wales ahead of Christmas.”

“We don’t yet know the full extent of how or if this will impact Trostre, but I will be working with my colleagues in Welsh Government to protect steel jobs across Wales.”

“We urgently need the UK Government to deliver a steel sector deal to protect jobs in this vital industry.”

Nia Griffith, Labour candidate for the Llanelli constituency said
“The loss of any jobs at Trostre or further afield would be a real blow to our area.”

“The Tories in Westminster have consistently failed to give the steel industry the support it needs, and that’s why I’m campaigning for a Labour Government that will support industry and jobs.”

“I’ll always push for the Government in London to support a crucial sector like steel, and ensure good quality jobs stay in Llanelli.”
