A great Christmas tradition is up and running again, with the NSPCC mailroom now taking orders for their ‘Letter from Santa’ for children living in Wales.

Since 2001 the charity has delivered 111,470 festive messages from Father Christmas across Wales, bringing huge joy to the lucky recipients.

In placing their orders over the past eighteen years generous family and friends have also donated £666,703 to the NSPCC to help their fight for every childhood.

Across the UK and Channel Islands more than two million letters have been ordered and delivered, with over 12 million pounds being raised for the charity enabling them to help children get back on track following abuse, and prevent abuse from happening in the first place.

This Christmas family and friends can build children a personalised Letter from Santa, choosing from eight new illustrations, including ‘Reindeer Flying Practice’, ‘Christmas Disco’ and ‘Elves are Ready to Go!’

Tailor with the child’s name, address, gender, age, hobbies, best friend or family member’s name and a special message for a magical start to the festive period.

Letters are age appropriate, with shorter text that is easier to read for younger children and longer letters for more advanced readers. The letters are also available in Welsh.

In placing their order family and friends can donate to the NSPCC, whose staff and volunteers will be working round the clock over the festive period to help children and young people in need of support.

Head of NSPCC Cymru/Wales, Des Mannion, said: “There are few better ways to mark the beginning of the festive period than by ordering a ‘Letter from Santa’ for a special child in your life and donating to the NSPCC.

“By paying for a special message from our Christmas grotto you will bring great joy to the lucky recipient and help us bring light into the lives of children and young people who are desperately in need of our help.”

The deadline for ordering letters is 26 November for overseas, 4 December for Europe and 16 December for UK. You can order your letter (suggested £5 donation) here: www.nspcc.org.uk/letterfromsanta

The NSPCC has also teamed up with premium chocolate company Lindt to help Santa send special messages to children across the country. Lindt is sponsoring Letter from Santa for the fifth year running.
