A fly tipper who dumped household and construction waste in a layby has been given a Ā£200 Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN). The householder was caught after his rubbish was found between Carway and Pontneywdd. The items were traced back to a property nearby. The man admitted paying someone to remove some of the waste from his property but didnā€™t check if they had a waste carrier license. And was unable to provide council enforcement officers with the carrierā€™s contact details. Householders should record the carrierā€™s business name, vehicle details, waste carrier registration number and ask for a receipt.

Other FPNs given out during October:

  • A Ā£75 FPN was issued to a Llanelli man for dumping a bag of waste at Dylan recycling facility
  • A Ā£300 FPN was issued to a business owner for a fly tipping incident in Cynheidre. The man failed to produce relevant documentation for the removal and transportation of the business waste within the specified time scale
  • A Ā£300 FPN was issued to a Llanelli woman after rubbish was found dumped in Delta Lakes, Llanelli. The woman admitted paying someone to remove the waste from her address in Trimsaran but didnā€™t check if they had a waste carrier license. And was unable to provide council enforcement officers with the carrierā€™s contact details.
