Action for Children is celebrating its 150th birthday at the Senedd on the 5th December from 12 – 1.30pm. Vaughan Gething AM, Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Services is sponsoring the event and will address the celebration.

The event will also be opportunity to hear from young people who have benefitted from the charity’s services and speak to staff who are in the frontline delivering the diverse and innovative projects Action for Children delivers.

Brigitte Gater, national director for Action for Children in Wales, said: ‘Action for Children is at the vanguard of providing innovative children’s homes, family support and wellbeing services in Wales and we are delighted to showcase our many projects at this Senedd celebration.

‘I think Thomas Stephenson would be astonished and most of all, proud of how the charity he started 150 years ago has developed. I’m certainly proud as the Wales director and I know there’s much more to be done in these challenging times but we pause to reflect and celebrate the work we do every day in our communities.’
