Charlie’s Angels Review.

Given how badly the previous two Charlie’s Angels films have been in the past, I had a lot of doubts on exactly how this was new version was going to turn out in the long run. I mean seriously, I can’t understand how the first movie back in the year 2000 was allowed to make a sequel. Surprisingly this movie turned out to be better than I thought it would be. Not great but better. There were no cheesy mission impossible masks or painfully cheesy one-liners. But as it so happens, (this is not a reboot) it is a continuation of the story. A passing of the torch, which was I have to say, quite the surprise to me. And it makes a lot of sense since a few familiar faces did appear in this year’s movie.

Starring Elizabeth Banks and Patrick Stewart as the Bosley agents, along-side Naomi Scott, Ella Balinska and Kristen Stewart as the Angels, we see the beginning of a new Angels team in a new era.

To see this new updated world of the Angels and the agency in a completely different light has brought many more possibilities to future story arcs. Elizabeth Banks as a director has shown us how much deeper we can be brought into this world of Angels and Bosley’s alike. She made this entertaining and personally, as a viewer, I enjoyed this more than I expected. I did think there were some issues with this, but I wouldn’t go as far as to say I won’t watch it again.

Bringing Drew Barrymore into producing the new Charlie’s Angels with Elizabeth Banks was I feel the smart move to make. Given Drew’s experience, she had on the first two films I can see Drew and Elizabeth working to make this the best movie they can. I would personally give this a rating of 8/10 so if you’re looking for all-girl action, then I think you’ll enjoy this.

Thanks for reading.
