Back in 1977, George Lukas gave us a movie that would change the face of cinema forever. Star Wars: A New Hope. This was the movie that would open up a saga that would amaze and inspire movie directors for generations. As J. J. Abrams brings the Star Wars saga to a final close with The Rise of Skywalker and the answer to the riddle of Rey’s origin, this movie certainly does not disappoint.
As a huge Star Wars fan. I cannot say enough positive things about this film and its story. I was right there with every single character on this journey, and I firmly believe with no bias feelings, that this film deserves every single bit of praise it gets. To even see Billy Dee Williams return as Lando Calrissian was so much fun to see. Also, I was so happy that Abrams was able to fit Carrie Fisher as princess Lea into this film which was a perfect tribute to her memory. Abrams also provide great fan service to the diehard Star Wars fan like myself, which gave an incredible wow factor.
I saw Rise of Skywalker yesterday asking myself, how will this turn out? Will it be as good as The Force Awakens or good but no great like The Last Jedi? I was completely blown away by the end. I haven’t been this captivated since the original Star Wars trilogy when I first was introduced to the franchise as a child. This is a movie filled with emotion, nostalgia, and so much more action than episodes seven and eight. It’s not fun saying goodbye to the characters we all love and have grown up with, but George Lucas provided us with a gift that kept on giving. Cinema would not be as it is without his vision. And for that, I will be forever grateful. Thank you, George.
I give Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker 10/10 and two thumbs up. Thanks for reading.
