It’s been a busy year for the entertainment industry. Many of the Movies this year deserve high praise, and so here’s a list of ten for you to see that I rate on my top ten for 2019. Keep in mind, this is not in order from most to least favourite, but I did save for last what is in my opinion, the best for last.

10. Bohemian Rhapsody.

An amazing life story about possibly the greatest band of all time. Here we view how Queen pretty much changed the landscape of the music industry, and how they brought their experimentation and other musical genres into mixed with rock and roll. Rami Malek gave an award-winning performance as Freddie Mercury as did the rest of the cast and I give this film a rating of 9/10

9. Jumanji: The Next Level.

This movie in every word did take Jumanji (to the next level) with the returning cast of Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan and Nick Jonas. Joining the Jumanji crew are Danny DeVito and Danny Glover who although I can’t see as portrayed by Johnson and Hart, but they still provided a lot of fun entertainment for the movie which is why I give this an 8.5/10.

8. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

When it comes to directors, one of the top names that come to mind is Quentin Tarantino. This movie, in my opinion, is some of his best work yet and I would seriously be surprised if anyone said otherwise. Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt give an amazing performance as always and I give this a 9.8/10.

7. 6 Underground.

This is a fun-packed, adrenalin-fueled, action movie that has car chases that deserve a 9.9/10. Ryan Reynolds plays a kind of Deadpool type version of a non-government team leader without constantly breaking the fourth wall and also without the powers. 6 Underground was released on Netflix in December.

6. John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum.

Another action-packed adrenalin-fueled movie with what Keanu Reeves describes as what he likes to call, Gun-Fu. Also included viewing are chase scenes involving not only cars but motorcycles and, believe it or not, horses which give us some awesome scenes. I give Parabellum 9.9/10 as the choreography is truly amazing.

5. Shazam.

Finally, Warner Brothers give us Big meets Superman! Asher Angel and Zachary Levi give a winning performance as Billy Batson and Shazam. I give it an 8.7/10.

4. Star Wars Episode Nine: The Rise of Skywalker.

In my personal opinion, J. J. Abrams has pulled it off once again. Rise of Skywalker ends the Star Wars saga with a beautiful tribute to Carry Fisher and finishes it all off with a bang and gives a hell of a lot of fan service. I give this 9.9/10.

3. Joker.

I say Joaquin Phoenix gives us the performance of his life. He goes from a complete sympathetic person to complete and total homicidal maniac in a corrupt city who only wants to make people laugh. I say this deserves 10/10.

2. Spider-Man: Far From Home.

I can’t think of anyone who can play Spider-Man better than Tom Holland. Jake Gyllenhaal dominates playing Mysterio and the film finishes off stage four of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) with a flourish. This gets a 9.9/10 from me.

1. Avengers: Endgame.

Finally the best for last. The MCU will never make a movie that has more meaning than Endgame. And I firmly believe no other Marvel movie will be able to top what they pulled off what we saw in this. I have no shame in admitting that I was an emotional mess through every moment of this epic venture which is why this film earns more than marks out of ten.
