IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION RELATING TO ALEXA DEVICES – DO NOT USE FOR CPR

Following on from multiple posts over the internet about how your Alexa device can provide information on how to give CPR, the UK Emergency Services are putting out warnings telling people NOT to use Alexa for CPR, ring 999 instead!

When you phone 999 the call handler is alot more qualified than your Alexa device and will be assessing the person whilst telling you how to do CPR, at the same time dispatching all necessary emergency responders.

Do not rely on a computerised voice to tell you what to do in this life and death situation… Alexa will NOT be getting you a ambulance, and delaying the 999 call even for a minute could be the matter of life and death when every second counts.

Remember to dial 999 and ask for the required emergency service.

For an emergency on the coast it’s to dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
