Long Course Weekend announce new “Powered By” partner for The Wales Half Marathon 2020

Local charity Hywel Dda Health Charities have been unveiled as the new “Powered By” partner for The Wales Half Marathon 2020 in an exclusive new deal.

Covering Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion this local charity supports patients, staff and services and exists to make a recognised difference to the patients and families cared for by the Health Board. From the purchase of much needed specialist equipment, to extra staff training and improved surroundings, the work the charity conducts allow them to support the revenue streams above and beyond that provided by the NHS. Hundreds of families have, and will continue to benefit from this fantastic organisation funded solely from local events, community fundraising and individual contributions.

Tara Nickerson from HDHC had the following to say on the announcement, “We’re excited to be working with Activity Wales as the new powered by partner for the 2020 Wales Half Marathon. We’re pleased that this partnership will give our supporters the opportunity to take part in events across the whole of the Long Course Weekend whilst fundraising for our local NHS. We look forward to seeing you there!”

Matthew Evans, CEO at Long Course Weekend commented “We always celebrate new working partnerships, but none more than local charities.  The Wales Half Marathon is a special event for so many people and we are delighted that together we will be raising vital funds for such a great cause.”

The Wales Half Marathon has been widely recognised as one of the best and most challenging races out there. With stunning sea views and a testing, undulating terrain the event starts from the birth place of Henry VII, the imposing Pembroke Castle. Set entirely in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, athletes’ journey around award winning beaches and medieval castles on their route back to Tenby to be greeted by the huge crowds and unforgettable Long Course Weekend finish line.

Cyhoeddwyd yr elusen leol Elusennau Iechyd Hywel Dda  fel y partner newydd “Powered By” ar gyfer Hanner Marathon 2020 Cymru mewn partneriaeth newydd unigryw.

Gan gwmpasu Sir Benfro, Sir Gaerfyrddin a Ceredigion, mae’r elusen leol hon yn cefnogi cleifion, staff a gwasanaethau ac yn bodoli i wneud gwahaniaeth cydnabyddedig i’r cleifion a’r teuluoedd sy’n derbyn gofal gan y Bwrdd Iechyd. O brynu offer arbenigol mawr ei angen, i hyfforddiant ychwanegol ar gyfer staff a gwell amgylchedd, mae’r gwaith y mae’r elusen yn ei wneud yn caniatáu iddynt gefnogi’r ffrydiau refeniw uwchlaw’r hyn a ddarperir gan y GIG. Mae cannoedd o deuluoedd wedi, a byddant yn parhau i elwa o’r elusen  gwych hwn a ariennir gan ddigwyddiadau lleol, codi arian cymunedol a chyfraniadau unigol yn unig.

Rydym yn falch y bydd y bartneriaeth hon yn rhoi cyfle i’n cefnogwyr gymryd rhan mewn digwyddiadau ar draws Penwythnos y Cwrs Hir wrth godi arian ar gyfer ein GIG lleol. Rydyn ni’n edrych ymlaen at eich gweld chi yno! ”

Dywedodd Matthew Evans, Prif Swyddog Gweithredol Penwythnos y Cwrs Hir “Rydyn ni bob amser yn dathlu partneriaethau gweithio newydd, ac yn falch iawn o weithio gyda elusennau lleol. Mae Hanner Marathon Cymru yn ddigwyddiad arbennig i gynifer o bobl ac rydym yn falch iawn y byddwn gyda’n gilydd yn codi arian hanfodol at achos mor wych. ”

Mae Hanner Marathon Cymru wedi cael ei gydnabod yn eang fel un o’r rasys gorau a mwyaf heriol. Gyda golygfeydd godidog o’r môr a thirwedd tonnog,  mae’r digwyddiad yn cychwyn o fan geni Harri VII, Castell mawreddog Penfro. Wedi’i osod yn gyfan gwbl ym Mharc Cenedlaethol Arfordir Sir Benfro, bydd athletwyr yn teithio o amgylch traethau hyfryd a chestyll canoloesol ar eu llwybr yn ôl i Ddinbych-y-pysgod i gael eu cyfarch gan y torfeydd enfawr a llinell derfyn Penwythnos Cwrs Hir bythgofiadwy.
