SPRING RUNNING DAY AT CYNHEIDRE

The Llanelli & Mynydd Mawr Railway at Cynheidre  will kick off their 2020 season on Saturday 28th March. Highlights will include frequent train rides over our newly extended running line, now nearly ½ mile in length, hauled by our Sentinel Diesel locomotive and brake van.

The railway’s other rolling stock, including local Landore celebrity shunter 08 795 and Class 122 DMU 55019 will also be available to view and there will be access to the heritage centre which tells the story of Cynheidre Colliery and its railway.

The site will open at 10.30am with trains running at frequent intervals from 11am to 4pm.

Fares have been held at 2019 levels,  £4 Adult, £3 child/senior, £10 family (2 adults and 2 children). Tickets are all day rovers. The buffet car will be open for the sale of refreshments.

The railway is a charity run totally by volunteers.  It is hoping to grow into a major tourist attraction for the Llanelli district and in order to reach our goals we need more volunteer help in all departments including operational, maintenance and restoration, and administration. If you could spare a few hours for what is a most enjoyable pastime and worthwhile cause do not hesitate to get in touch.  For more information or to volunteer please visit our website at https://www.llanellirailway.co.uk or Facebook page at www.facebook.com/llanellirailway
