Earlier this week we announced the temporary closure of all of our 1,350 restaurants across the UK & Ireland. This was not a decision we took lightly but one taken with the well-being of our people and customers in mind. We are hard at work behind the scenes redistributing food, supporting our employees and looking ahead to when we can open our doors again.
Thank you.
Thank you to our brilliant employees, franchisees and suppliers who have helped us quickly and safely close all of our restaurants this week and then supported our efforts to benefit hundreds of charities and food banks as we distributed our surplus food.
In five days we have:
⢠| Teamed up with Food Drop to provide supplies and food to more than 150 charities |
⢠| Partnered with FareShare to ensure the continued supply of surplus products to their food banks and distribution centres |
⢠| Delivered fresh produce and 65,000 litres of milk to key workers through the Company Shop |
⢠| Provided thousands of free meals, drinks and food parcels to homeless shelters, refuges, care homes and NHS workers through local initiatives led by our fantastic franchisees. |
Over the coming weeks we will continue to work with these organisations to distribute as much surplus food as we can to those who need it most. Thank you again to everyone who has made this possible, including our suppliers Veolia and Martin Brower.
Stay at home. Protect the NHS. Save Lives.
We are working with the UK Government to continue to share important public health and safety messages, the first of which is below.
Coming soon.
Whilst our restaurants are closed, we still want to provide some entertainment and enjoyment during these uncertain times.
Looking ahead to the next few weeks:
⢠| Our Happy MealŽ team is working on a great new website to give families some Happy MealŽ magic at home |
⢠| Our Fun Football team is putting together skills and drills content for footballers old and young to enjoy in the garden |
⢠| Over on our social media channels, weâll be looking for your help in choosing which burgers we return with when we reopen |
Please keep safe in these unprecedented times, we look forward to seeing you again as soon as it is safe for us to reopen.
