Neath Port Talbot Council’s Work Station is calling on people who are unemployed and looking for work to fill vacant key worker roles.
Whilst most businesses are on lock-down, a number of sectors are employing key workers whose roles are still vital during the current coronavirus outbreak.
The Work Station has seen an increase in demand for people who have transferrable skills and are interested in working in essential sectors such as health and social care, food and transport.
Councillor Rob Jones, Leader of Neath Port Talbot Council, said:
“The team has been approached by numerous local businesses asking for help to fill vacancies that have been created due to the coronavirus outbreak.”
“We are urging people who have recently lost their job or are at risk of losing it, to contact the Work Station to see if they can be matched to a suitable job.
The Council’s Work Station is a ‘one stop shop’ for support with careers advice, training and job opportunities. It is made up of a number of employment support agencies such as Workways+, Communities 4 Work and PACE.
