Despite the current restrictions we are ploughing ahead with our plans for Peter Pan, in the hope that we can start 2021 with some top quality, light-hearted family entertainment through the magic of pantomime. The Friendship Theatre Group announces with great sadness that Denys Jenkins aka Denny Twp has decided to retire from Pantomime.
Denys Jenkins has made the very difficult decision to hang up his bobble hat after over 40 years as Llanelli’s favourite pantomime character, Denny Twp. Whilst, Denny had intended to perform a cameo role in our 2021 Production of Peter Pan, he has since decided that now is the right time to finish on a high after his outstanding performance in another sell out production of Aladdin in January 2020.

Denny, a founder member of the Friendship Theatre Group for over 28 years has also been the companies Chairman for the last 15 years.
As well as his onstage efforts, Denny has invested a great deal of time helping organise the pantomime and promote the show across the county.
Over the last 28 years, Denny has tickled audiences with his wit, impeccable timing, singing and even occasional dancing, although he will admit that singing was never one of his strengths. Denny has had many brothers and has unknowingly played his part in helping them defeat many a baddie over the years.

It is with a great deal of pride and admiration that we, The Friendship Theatre Group offer our gratitude to Denny and his wife, Lois Jenkins, for all they have done for the company. They have both worked incredibly hard to ensure the success of the Group and we will be forever grateful for their dedication. Whilst Denny entertained audiences on stage, Lois has successfully led our Front of House team for many years, ensuring programme sales played a large role in our charitable donations. Both Denny and Lois will be dearly missed by the entire Group.

Denny and Lois have been instrumental in The Friendship Theatre Group donating over £200,000 to local charities and organisations over the last 28 years. Rest assured, we will continue to entertain our audiences for many years to come and with your support we can carry on donating much needed funds to good causes around South Wales.
Please join us in wishing Denny Twp a huge farewell and best wishes in retirement! Who knows, you might hear that unmistakable laugh in the audience in the years to come.
