Refuse and recycling crews are working on VE Day Bank Holiday (Friday, May 8), in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Residents are being urged to put their waste (including garden waste) out on their usual collection day.

They are also being reminded to put their bins out the night before as collections may take place earlier than usual.

Where possible crews will be joining the nation in observing the two-minute silence at 11am to mark the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe.
