Generous staff and customers of Barclays Bank in Llanelli have teamed up to donate much needed supplies to a local foodbank in support of those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Over the past few weeks, Barclays employees have been collecting food and other groceries at their Llanelli town centre branch to pass on to Tyisha Foodbank for distribution in the local community.

Branch Manager, Kimberley Williams, and colleague Danielle Rees took time out to deliver the donations to volunteers at the foodbank including Nia Griffith MP and Cllrs Suzy Curry, Andre McPherson and John  Prosser.

Kimberley Williams said:

“Everyone involved has really rallied round in these uncertain times and we felt that it was only right for us, as a local branch of Barclays Bank, to put something back into those communities that we serve.  Staff and customers have pulled together to provide these supplies and we hope that it will go a little way to making life easier for people who are relying on the help that the foodbank is giving them.”

Llanelli MP, Nia Griffith, added:

“This a very kind gesture from Kimberley and everyone at the branch.  Well done to them all.”

“Money is tight for an increasing number of people at the moment and it will make a huge difference to the many families who have had to seek assistance from Tyisha Foodbank in a time of great need.”
