Drugs warrants in Llanelli

Police in Llanelli have carried out two warrants as they crack down on the use of drugs in the town.

Searches have been carried out at addresses in Station Road and Pottery Street over the past few days, with quantities of cannabis, white powder and tablets seized.

One man has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply, while two others will be voluntarily interviewed for possession.

Dyfed-Powys Police officers from the response team, armed response unit, dog unit and detectives forced entry to a flat in Station Road at just after midnight on Wednesday, June 3.

Around 52g of cannabis was found, along with nine bags containing white powder. The estimated value of the drugs is £600.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply and taken to police custody. He was released under investigation pending further enquiries.

A second warrant was carried out in the town on Sunday, June 8 following complaints from people in the neighbourhood.

Officers entered a house in Pottery Street, where a search was carried out.

A total of 12g of cannabis was recovered, along with 39 unknown tablets and a small bag of an unknown substance.

Two men will be voluntary interviewed on suspicion of possessing illegal substances.
