CETMA FOODBANK RECEIVES LOTTERY SUPPORT

Pembrey and Burry Port foodbank have been awarded £9900 by the National Lottery Community Fund.

The CETMA project, has been awarded the funding to help them continue the vital work that helps feed families in need and covers the following areas:

Pembrey, Burry Port, Pwll, Kidwelly, Mynydd Y Garreg, Llansaint, St Ishmaels, Ferryside, Trimsaran, Carway, Ponyates, Ponthenri and Five Roads.

Foodbank Team Leader, Amanda Evans said:

“Myself and the whole team of volunteers would like to thank the National Lottery Community fund for providing this much needed funding to help support our communities.”

“Our volunteers have been working tirelessly during the Covid-19 Pandemic to help those that are need extra support.”

“We’re here to help people, who have to shield, those who’s circumstances have changed due to furlough or redundancy, and those that just need an extra bit of support.”

The cheque was handed over by outgoing Mayor of Pembrey and Burry Port Cllr Peter Freeman and Amanda added:

“We’d also like to thank Cllr Freeman for all of his support. Not only has he honoured us today, but he has organised community food collections in his spare time. Also, Pembrey and Burry Port Town Council have been amazing and have allowed us to use their hall, as well as providing us with other support.”
