This week, Nestlé announced that they will no longer be sourcing Fairtrade cocoa and sugar for their KitKats.
This will cost farmers in Côte d’Ivoire, Fiji and Malawi almost £2m in Fairtrade premiums per year. That is just one week of KitKat sales in the UK.
As a result, our partners at Fair Trade Wales is backing a petition to the Ulf Mark Schneider, CEO of Nestlé urging him to reverse this decision.
