MOTORPOINT ARENA TO HOST 2021 PREMIER LEAGUE DARTS’ OPENING NIGHT

The Professional Darts Corporation’s Premier League will have a fresh look in 2021 as Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena stages the opening league night of the season on Thursday February 4.

The Motorpoint Arena has traditionally been one of the most popular Premier League venues since first hosting the darts roadshow event in 2007, and a sell-out crowd cheered on Welsh star Gerwyn Price when the event was held in Cardiff in February 2020.

Cardiff will now host the eagerly-awaited opening night of the 2021 Premier League season on Thursday February 4, with a ten-player field set to include the likes of Price, world number one Michael van Gerwen and World Champion Peter Wright.

The season will then visit arenas in the UK, Ireland and Netherlands over four months before the top four players at the conclusion of the league phase travel to Berlin for the Play-Offs, as the semi-finals and final are held outside of the UK for the first time.

Tickets for the 2021 Premier League event are likely to go on sale later in 2020. Details will be confirmed at www.pdc.tv/tickets.
