Radio Broadcaster Chris Needs MBE has died at the age of 66 after suffering a Heart Attack overnight.
Chris who joined BBC Radio Wales in 1996 presented a popular radio show for the station called the friendly garden, with a unique presenting style and mix of music, where from one minute you could be listening to a piece of classical music, to a welsh song, to some uplifting dance music.
Chris started his radio career at Touch AM in Cardiff before moving to BBC Radio Wales, it was 2002 when his popular radio show the friendly garden began, where he would welcome anyone in to be a member, even pets.
Chris was born in Cwmafan, near Port Talbot in 1954, he was awarded his MBE in 2005, he leaves behind his long term partner Gabe Cameron.
Chris was openly Gay he often spoke about on his radio show, he also did quite a lot for charity too, often would put on a show or turn up to events to help them with their fundraising.
Tonight Monday 27th July there will be a special show remembering the broadcaster, which will be presented by Mal Pope.
Chris Needs 12th March 1954 – 26th July 2020 Rest In Peace.
