WNP ASKS PUBLIC, ‘HOW WOULD YOU MAKE WALES A BETTER COUNTRY?’

The Welsh National Party (WNP) is today (28th Aug) launching a Wales-wide policy consultation in a bid to kick-start a ‘democratic renewal’ in Wales.

The consultation, dubbed ‘Better for Wales’, invites the public to ‘imagine a better Wales’ and allows users of the site to rate ideas by voting them up or down.

WNP Chair, Gretta Marshall who has formally launched the consultation is encouraging as many people to take part,

“People who live and work in our communities are the people who know how to tackle the problems our communities face and how we go about making our nation more successful and prosperous –

“Which is exactly why we want to hear from as many people as possible, the length and breadth of the country.

She added, “There’s no idea too big or small. Sometimes the smallest idea can spark the greatest change.

“Contributions will be debated at the WNP Party Conference this autumn and members will decide whether to adopt proposals as party policy.

Leader of the WNP, Neil McEvoy MS commented,

“I’m delighted the WNP has launched this consultation. As a new party, we pledged not to do ‘politics as usual’ but instead represent the best interests of people living in Wales, and to do that we need to re-establish trust in politics.

“The vision for our country going forward is something everybody should be a part of, not just the politicians in Cardiff Bay. We want to take the Welsh people with us.

“This is real engagement with real people to create real meaningful change

“We need a democratic renewal in Wales. We cannot continue to govern simply by forcing unpopular policies and decisions onto people, as we’ve seen time and time again but instead we must involve the public in the decision-making process and make choices with their consent.

“The WNP believes the best people to make decisions about Wales’ future are those of us who live and work here.  As such, I very much look forward to reading through submissions!

The consultation will run from 28th August- 30 September.

Y BLAID GENEDLAETHOL YN GOFYN I’R CYHOEDD, ‘SUT FYDDECH CHI’N GWNEUD CYMRU YN WLAD WELL?’

MAE’R Blaid Genedlaethol heddiw (28 Awst) yn lansio ymgynghoriad polisi cenedlaethol mewn ymgais i ‘adnewyddu democratiaeth’ yng Nghymru.
Mae’r ymgynghoriad, a alwyd yn ‘Gwell i Gymru’, yn gwahodd y cyhoedd i ‘ddychmygu Cymru gwell’ ac yn caniatáu i ddefnyddwyr y wefan i ddatgan barn ar y syniadau trwy system bleidleisio.
Mae Cadeirydd y Blaid Genedlaethol, Gretta Marshall sydd wedi lansio’r ymgynghoriad yn ffurfiol yn annog cymaint o bobl â phosibl i gymryd rhan.
“Y bobl sy’n byw ac yn gweithio yn ein cymunedau yw’r bobl sy’n gwybod orau sut i fynd i’r afael â’r problemau sy’n ein hwynebu a sut y byddwn ni’n gwneud ein cenedl yn fwy llwyddiannus a llewyrchus – a dyna’n union pam rydyn ni eisiau clywed gan gynifer o bobl â phosib, o bob cwr o’r wlad.
“Does dim syniad yn rhy fawr neu’n rhy fach. Weithiau gall y syniad lleiaf sbarduno’r newid mwyaf.
Dywedodd Arweinydd y Blaid Genedlaethol, Neil McEvoy AS,
“Rwy’n falch iawn ein bod wedi lansio’r ymgynghoriad polisi heddiw. Fel plaid newydd, gwnaethom addewid i beidio â gwneud ‘gwleidyddiaeth fel arfer’ ond yn hytrach i gynrychioli buddiannau gorau pobl sy’n byw yng Nghymru ac i wneud hynny mae angen i ni ailsefydlu ymddiriedaeth mewn gwleidyddiaeth.
“Mae’r weledigaeth ar gyfer dyfodol ein gwlad yn rhywbeth y dylai pawb fod yn rhan ohono, nid y gwleidyddion ym Mae Caerdydd yn unig. Rydyn ni am fynd â phobl Cymru gyda ni.
“Dyma ymgais gwirioneddol i ymgysylltu â phobl go iawn i greu newid ystyrlon.
“Mae dirfawr angen adnewyddu democratiaeth arnom yng Nghymru. Ni allwn barhau i lywodraethu trwy orfodi polisïau a phenderfyniadau amhoblogaidd ar bobl yn unig, fel yr ydym wedi eu gweld dro ar ôl tro ond yn lle hynny mae’n rhaid i ni gynnwys y cyhoedd yn y broses benderfynu a gwneud dewisiadau allweddol gyda’u cydsyniad.”
“Mae’r Blaid Genedlaethol yn credu mai’r bobl orau i wneud penderfyniadau am ddyfodol Cymru yw’r rhai ohonom sy’n byw ac yn gweithio yma. Yn hynny o beth, edrychaf ymlaen yn fawr at ddarllen eu syniadau!”
