Rob James - Labour Leader

Councillor Rob James, Leader of Carmarthenshire Labour and Opposition Leader on Carmarthenshire Council states, “Plaid Cymru are once again exhausting all their energies in seeking to divide communities, rather than bringing communities together.

“Today’s Independence Commission Report is based on fantasy economics and wishful thinking. Figures from Cardiff University show that Wales has an annual deficit of £13.7 billion, twice the entire budget of the Welsh NHS – they are not being honest on their plans for massive tax rises or even deeper cuts that the Tories have imposed on us.

“We can see from their record on Carmarthenshire Council that they cannot lead a Council, let alone Wales.
“Adam Price’s party have a £7.4m overspend in Carmarthenshire this year, wasted £8.2m on hiring agency staff through private companies rather than internally, overseen debt rising by £80m in four years, cut services to the bone and have an ongoing police investigation into one of their City projects.

“People in Carmarthenshire have realised that their promises in opposition are never delivered upon in power.”
