Responding to the new restrictions in Scotland and the rise in Coronavirus cases seen across Wales, Plaid Cymru Leader Adam Price MS said,

“These new restrictions coming into force in Scotland from Friday demonstrate a significant ramping up of restrictions locally and Scotland-wide in what has come to be known as the ‘circuit breaker’ to curb the rise in cases.

“Meanwhile, today every single area in Wales has seen a rise in cases – the most ever recorded in a single day. More people are currently in critical care in Wales than in Scotland and more people hospitalised recently with Covid-19 in Wales than in Scotland.

“The next few days is going to be critical in Wales and we may need to pull that emergency cord, as the Scottish government has already decided to do. There are no risk-free options in a sense to any Government but the greatest risk of all is delay.
