The PCAN project supports children and young people aged 0-25 with additional needs and/or a disability across Powys and the Welshpool group participated in the ‘Tiny Revolutions’ aspect of the Fun Palaces project after making links with the National Trust at Powis Castle during a series of trips there over the summer.

Tiny Revolutions helps groups with staying connected, sharing ideas and skills sharing and Action for Children’s PCAN project coordinator, Julie Taylor, said: ‘The group used their imagination and creative skills to make a peacock themed piece of art which we will give to the staff at Powis Castle as a “thank you” for hosting us over the summer holidays.

‘The children loved gathering natural resources from around our base for the day at Guilsfield Community Centre to include in the piece. The National Trust team were so good with us particularly given the Covid-19 restrictions and we were all keen to take part in the Fun Palaces event and show our appreciation.’
