Councillor Rob James, Opposition Leader, stated “For a second week we have seen a marked decrease in the rate of infections in the Llanelli area and we thank local residents for their compliance with the measures put in place.
“The health protection zone has shown that further action may be needed across Carmarthenshire to tackle the rise of cases in other parts of the County. We appreciate that these measures are having a significant impact on individuals lives, yet we cannot allow this virus to overwhelm our National Health Service.
“It is the responsibility of all of us to continue utilising face coverings, observing social distancing and washing our hands frequently.”
