A murder investigation is underway following the death of a man at an house in Cardiff.
South Wales Police was called to reports of a serious assault at an address in Cypress Crescent, St Mellons, at approximately 8pm on Friday, October 16th.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services the victim, a 54-year-old man, died at the scene.
A woman was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, where she currently remains, with serious injuries which aren’t believed to life-threatening.
A 21-year-old man, who is known to the victims, was arrested on Newport Road a short time after the incident was reported.
He remains in police custody.
Detectives are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the incident, however, they are appealing for any witnesses who have not yet given an account to police to come forward.
