Detectives investigating an aggravated burglary at a home in Porthcawl back in August are once again appealing for anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward as it could be vital to the investigation.

On Tuesday 4th August around 10.15pm, a family was left terrified after a gang of masked men gained entry to their home on Austin Avenue.
The burglars searched the address before making off with cash, jewellery and mobile phones.

Detective Inspector Emma Hampton said: “We are still appealing for information and witnesses to come forward. We feel there is still information out there in the community which could help us bring these people before the courts. We urge anyone with information, no matter how small you think it is, to contact us as it could be a vital clue in the investigation.

“This was a terrifying incident which has left a family feeling vulnerable in the place where they should feel safest.

“Thankfully no one was physically harmed during the break-in, and such incidents are rare. However we want to arrest these criminals to prevent any other families experiencing what this family has.

“We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the vicinity of the address, both prior to and after the burglary, and in particular we are keen to trace a black Audi/ VW-type hatchback which was seen in the area around the time of the offence.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact police via 101, or private Facebook message, quoting reference 2000280666.

Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted free and anonymously on 0800 555 111.
