Bipolar UK supporting the community thanks to National Lottery funding

Bipolar UK have successfully applied for a grant of £24,314 from The National Lottery Community Fund.

Rosie Phillips, Peer Support Services Manager at Bipolar UK welcomed the grant saying

“Bipolar UK’s new Wales Video Peer Support Groups project will support communities most likely to face increasing challenges as a result of COVID-19.  Our service users, already among the most marginalised and vulnerable people in the Principality, face their darkest times in the current health crisis. People with bipolar are 20 times more likely to complete suicide than others, but thanks to this National Lottery grant we can now provide them with lifeline.”

Bipolar UK – Wales Video Peer Support Group Service in Cardiff, Abergele, Bridgend, Carmarthen, Dolgellau, Swansea, Wrexham, Tenby, Brecon, Cwmbran and Pontypridd are helping their community during this challenging time thanks to National Lottery players by creating secure, accessible groups for those affected by this challenging mental health condition on the zoom platform.

“Bipolar UK are supporting a group who find themselves even more vulnerable now, we are glad to support them with a grant to offer a vital service.  National Lottery players raise £30 million each week for good causes throughout the UK and this grant is one of many we have given to amazing groups across Wales.”
