  1. Wigan Council, Frost Fest – Saturday 21st November (7:00-9:00 pm)

Following the cancellation of Wigan’s well-known annual Christmas lights switch-on, the town council has announced they’re instead going virtual! 

Wigan’s 2020 ‘Frost Fest’ will come in the shape of a pre-recorded show streamed across a number of social platforms on the 21st of November at 7 pm. 

It will feature a headline act from The Lancashire Hotpots, a live switch on of Ashton, Wigan, and Leigh’s lights, and videos from businesses in the areas, encouraging residents to shop local this Christmas.

  1. Evolve Events, Christmas In A Box – Available Now

CancerCare’s annual Santa Dash has gone digital this year. Usually taking place on the streets of Lancaster, the charity is now asking the public to run, walk, cycle, swim or row as many miles as they can to reach a combined total of 1,347 miles – the distance between Santa’s home in Lapland to Lancaster. You can enter the dash for as little as £5, and download your own sponsorship form to raise funds for CancerCare.

  1. Shelter, Free Virtual Carol Concert – 3rd December (7:00 pm)

Shelter is a UK based charity that has helped thousands every year struggling with housing and homelessness.This December the charity is hosting the UK’s biggest virtual carol concert, to bring the nation together and show support to the people facing homelessness this winter. 

The concert will be live streamed from St Martin-in-the-Fields church on the 3rd of December, where guests can expect to see some familiar famous faces, listen to heartfelt  readings, and even the opportunity to get involved, if you fancy singing a Christmas carol or two!
