Paul Davies MS â the Leader of the Opposition in the Welsh Parliament â today pressed the First Minister for as much notice as possible for businesses struggling to cope with restrictions that could be introduced in the run-up to Christmas.
Mr Davies asked for confirmation that the Welsh Labour-led Government would notify businesses across Wales in advance of any new restrictions in Wales, giving them time to plan for any changes.
Speaking later, Mr Davies said:
âI have to say that I was disappointed with the First Ministerâs response to this question.
âIt was a perfect opportunity for him to offer the clarity and the reassurance that businesses up and down the country are crying out for, the same businesspeople who email me and my Welsh Conservative colleagues daily about the problems they have faced.
âInstead, he chose to politicise his response, and attempted to criticise the UK Government for the massive help it has given to Wales and its people.
âIt was not what businesspeople, already anxious over what is likely the worst year many of them have faced, needed to hear. They needed clarity, they needed surety. They needed the guarantee that they would receive as much notice as possible.
âThey deserve better than the response they were given.â
