Jill Paterson, Director of Primary Care, Community and Long Term Care and Ros Jervis, Director of Public Health at Hywel Dda University Health Board said: “You may be aware of an announcement made by the Welsh Government that free flu vaccinations will now be made available to people aged 50yrs to 64yrs.

“Please be patient while our colleagues in GP practices and Community Pharmacies plan for this extension. We kindly ask that you do not contact your GP or Community Pharmacy at this time regarding the flu vaccine.

“We will provide an update as soon as possible with information about how people can access the vaccine and from where – but please be aware the flu vaccine may not be available for this new eligible group from all our GP practices or Community Pharmacies. Clarification will be provided as soon as possible.“Please note, if you are aged between 50yrs and 64yrs with a long-term health condition and have already received an invitation to receive a flu vaccine, please proceed to book your appointment as requested by your GP practice.”
