The British Red Cross is inviting friends, neighbours and colleagues to pour a cup of kindness and support their work across the UK.

The ‘Cup of Kindness’ tea party campaign encourages people to stay in touch safely at this special time of year and host a festive tea party online as a way of staying in touch with friends while also raising vital funds.

The money raised will enable the Red Cross to continue supporting those hit hardest by the coronavirus pandemic.

Jess Burden, Senior Community Fundraiser at the British Red Cross, says:

“We know if there is one thing we can all enjoy together, it’s a lovely cuppa!  And whether you drink Earl Grey, Spiced Chai or good old English Breakfast, we can all pour a cup of kindness to help our volunteers support vulnerable people in our local communities. Red Cross volunteers are supporting people across Wales during the pandemic. They’re also helping tackle the silent epidemic of loneliness and are offering a listening ear on our national helpline every single day.’

‘And of course, despite Coronavirus, every-day emergencies such as fires, floods and severe weather continue to happen. Our emergency response volunteers are on stand-by 24/7 to support people affected by all sorts of unexpected crises.”

Sign up now and you’ll receive a digital tea party pack with everything you need to make it happen, including recipes, a quiz and fun downloadable bunting to bring a smile to your friends’ faces. You can change lives by hosting your own virtual tea party this December!
