Morrisons The Best Vegetable Tempura Nests have been crowned the best veggie canapé for Christmas in a blind TV Taste Test.

The £4 vegan canapé beat offerings from Waitrose and Asda on Tuesday’s episode of How to Spend It Well at Christmas with Philip Schofield.

The product was praised by key workers who said they assumed it was the most expensive of the three, when that spot in fact went to Waitrose’s Vegan Mini Beet Wellingtons.

The Best Vegetable Tempura Nests with Sweet Chilli Dip are a vegan canapé that everyone will enjoy this Christmas. Ribbons of onions, carrots, pepper have been seasoned with coriander and coated in crisp tempura batter ready to pop in the oven and serve with the included dip. Available in store and online now they cost £4 for a pack of 8, or are part of Morrisons 3 for 2 party food offer.

Andrew Nunns, Party Food Buyer at Morrisons said: “We couldn’t be more delighted that our The Best Vegetable Tempura Nests came out top in this blind taste test. How to Spend It Well is one of the most anticipated shows this time of the year and we know our customers always look out for Philip’s recommendations.”

Customers will need to be quick to snap up the coveted canapé, as The Best Layered Vegetable Tart which won the sought-after title of best Christmas Main for Veggies on last year’s show flew off shelves in Morrisons stores across the UK the morning after the show aired.

The Best Vegetable Tempura Nests with Sweet Chili Dip are available in Morrisons stores and online now for £4. They sit alongside other party food at Morrisons including The Best Dim Sum Selection, The Best Duck Straws and The Best Mini Pies – all included in Morrisons 3 for 2 deal.

Morrisons has launched more new vegan party food offerings this year, including No-Prawn Tempura, No-Duck Spring Rolls and No-Pigs in Blankets.
