Llanelli based Social Enterprise, CETMA has been awarded funding from The
Provident Social Impact Fund to help ‘Jump Start’ people’s home budgeting skills.
The project will see the CETMA organise budget workshops with partners in the
wards of Llwynhendy, Glanymor, Tyisha, Trimsaran and Bigyn.
Izzy Khan, Project Admin said:
“We’ll be working with individuals within the communities to provide them with
simple advice and guidance on how to re-evaluate their home finances and show
them how to make some changes for good.”
“We aim to make budgeting fun!”
The project will organise a workshop event in each area, where people will be able
to come along and meet other support organisations and find out about Jump Start
and how it can help. It will also distribute a quarterly newsletter to the areas which
will contain money saving advice, information from partners and community news.
The Grant is administered by Community Foundation Wales and aims to organise
workshops, distribute 2 newsletters, and recruit volunteers.
“Jump Start is a simple and easy process in which we can evaluate where a client
needs support, and then tailor that support to their individual needs.”
“The client will receive ongoing support to help them improve their finances, tackle
isolation, and help them engage more effectively with their community.” Added
Izzy.
