Specialist business property advisor, Christie & Co has completed on the leasehold sale of West Cross Supermarket, a Nisa-branded convenience store and post office in West Cross, Swansea which has been under the same ownership for the past 38 years.

Situated on a shopping parade in the busy suburb of West Cross, West Cross Supermarket benefits from excellent levels of passing trade and is ideally situated close to residential buildings, primary schools and a variety of local businesses, all of which drive footfall to the store.

The family-run store has been owned and operated by Mr Salamaan Rasul since 1983 who is now looking to pursue other interests and focus on other business interests following the sale.

The new head lease has been secured by AF Blakemore & Son Limited, one of the largest family-owned food retail, wholesale and distribution companies in the UK. A sub-lease has also been simultaneously agreed with Kawal Singh who will be supplied by the group.

Mr Salamaan comments, “My family and I have thoroughly enjoyed our time running the store over the past 38 years, but we are now looking forward to moving onto other ventures. Jamie Williams and Christie & Co have been amazing in securing a new operator and I wish Blakemore all the best.”

Jamie Williams, Business Agent in Christie & Co’s Retail team handled the sale and adds, “With an off-market approach we were able to create a new lease, securing a corporate tenant for our client. This will provide them with a stable income and excellent covenant strength for years to come.

“If you own a similar freehold business and are interested in stepping back from the store, whilst keeping the investment, we have buyers in place, and I urge you to get in touch.”
