Parents and carers in the Milford Haven area are being asked to share their views on the need for Welsh Medium Education.

A child’s education is one of the most important decisions a parent or carer will make for their future, and every child in Pembrokeshire has a right to Welsh medium education.

Cllr Cris Tomos, Cabinet Member for Environment, Public Protection and Welsh Language, said “As a result of the Welsh Government’s commitment to developing Wales into a completely bilingual nation, there is more demand today than ever before for bilingual skills in the workplace.”

“All parents and carers can express a preference to send their children to a school which offers Welsh medium education, whether they are a Welsh or non-Welsh speaking family.”

Pembrokeshire County Council is therefore seeking feedback from parents and carers in the Milford Haven area on the language they would prefer their child or children to be educated in.

Cllr Guy Woodham, Cabinet Member for Education and Lifelong Learning, said “By completing this survey, you will be helping us to plan and deliver education services which meet the needs and wishes of as many parents and learners as possible.”

The closing dates for responses is the 31st March.
